Randomness and Pictures

I finally got around to putting some pictures up of stuff we've been doing. You know, for the grandparents.
First, some pics of the kids decorating the Christmas tree. Always great fun once Mama and Daddy do the painstaking work of putting the fake tree together and stringing on all the lights.

I think Maggie popped all the bubble wrap. I'm gonna have to get more before we pack everything back up next month.

I had some ripe bananas and had promised Evie I would make some banana muffins Saturday morning. Oliver found something to entertain himself while I was baking.

Licking brownie batter off the spoon. Mmmmmm.

Evie's class froze their goonies off this morning. We went to a Christmas tree farm so they could pick out their class tree.
(That's Caleb in the front with the red hat. Evie's new buddy, Brayden, is on the left. And Evie's little blonde head is sticking up behind Caleb's.)
Hey, I've got a little something to share with y'all... When you're running late to the preschool on Field Trip Day, and you realize that your windshield is a little dirty, and you actually have windshield washer fluid in your car when you normally don't because there's a hole in the bucket but you just went and got your oil changed and they put some in for you and it hasn't all run out yet, so you decide to wash your dusty windshield, don't be surprised when the water freezes to the glass on contact because the thermometer on your mirror says it's only 21 degrees outside, and you end up driving down the road at 60 mph peeking through a teensy tiny spot in the ice, and your 4-year-old is continuously chattering in the back because she's super excited about going to the tree farm, and there's no way you can stop to scrape the ice off because you're already late to school.
I'm just sayin'.
This is my attempt at being crafty. I copied a craft from my Family Fun magazine. (In person it
doesn't blend in with the wall quite so much.) I think John is actually impressed that I carried it out to completion!
Now all of you need to send me a Christmas card so I can fill it up!!

Hilarious! I am sure there is NEVER a dull moment in the Hix household. :)

Love the card tree. It turned out great, and I believe the Vances did our part to fill it up!

Have a blessed Christmas!

Hi there! I agree with your folks - great blog! I loved that the girls were dressed for the occasion of tree decorating in their finest attire :). Do you think the tree will still be up on Valentines day - I'll probably do valentines instead of Christmas cards...eep!

p.s. I am trying to make up a definition for my verification word "exharoj" - maybe "past girlfriend of an incarcerated football player"?
