For starters, we went to the State Fair of Texas on Columbus Day, which I know was almost two weeks ago. Better late than never, right?
We hit up most of the highlights: animals, food, games, and a few other things. Evie was in a PeeWee rodeo, which, if you know Evie and how shy she is of new things, this was HUGE! She got to wear a back number, a cowgirl hat, and chaps, and she rode a "bucking bronco" while the crowd cheered! I was so excited to see her volunteer to participate and get out of her comfort zone. What a big girl!
Brother couldn't stop pointing and saying "cow". All over the place.
FYI: Giraffes are slimy.
Time for fair goodies!
Corndogs,
ice cream,
and fried Frito pie!
Games!
And prizes!
Brother played his own game.
He refused a stuffed animal prize, but he lit up when Daddy showed him the Samurai sword!
We got a fun surprise when we pulled into our drive:
A family of at least five raccoons running up the tree! They hid and peeked at us while we got out of the car. John caught a picture of one curious little one.

Fun, fun & fun! Did you guys see (or dare try) the latest and greatest fair food of krispy kreme hamburger with chocolate bacon? I'm anxious to hear from someone I know. That raccoon pic is really cute :).
Cowgirl Evie! Looks like ya'll had a great time! Funny that Oliver liked the sword. Wonder if the coons will hang around your house or just that night? Probably eating all the acorns.
