Last year we had the flu over Halloween weekend, and while we got to carve a couple of pumpkins, we missed out on the rest of the fun. Dressing up and trick-or-treating is WAY more fun than fever and chills as far as I'm concerned.
Pumpkin gutting and carving is a whole-family affair. It takes all five of us to get it done. Wouldn't have it any other way!
Every year John tries to carve a pumpkin the kids will really love. This year he went for Phineas and Ferb. The girls couldn't stop giggling!
The kids also help Mama design a face each year. Mama and Evie wanted a clown, but Maggie really, really wanted a cute, cheerful pumpkin.
Our weird little town has a history of officially moving trick-or-treating if Halloween falls on a Sunday like it did this year. However, the city didn't make an official call this year. So after a week of everyone on facebook debating wether to go out on Saturday or Sunday, we just decided to go out both nights! Talk about FUN!
Here we go on Saturday night with Snow White and Cinderella.
Oliver refused to wear his lego costume Daddy made, so we borrowed an adorable dragon from some friends. Which he also freaked out about. Gotta love two-year-olds.
Here's our little group! Snow White, a policeman, Cinderella, a doctor, and a garden gnome.
Can you tell us how you really feel, Brother?
Sunday night: a policeman, Cinderella, a doctor in his lab coat, Cinderella, and a lego! (At least for a minute.)
Isaac REALLY enjoyed trick-or-treating. Look at him trying to open the door! "Gimme candy!!"
Check out Oliver in his L-3 engineer costume. He's pretty much the spittin' image of his Daddy when he goes in for work! One lady opened the door, listed off each of the kids' costumes, then said to Oliver, "Oh, and you came as a teenager!" Cracked me up!

Awesome. That pumpkin carving is more elaborate than what we did when you kids were little! John does a great job with those. Oliver is hilarious. Serious looking during the pumpkin gutting and ripping off the dragon suit. LOLOL
You guys always outdo yourselves. So precious and I luv it
