We were blissfully ignorant of how crazy the journey was we were embarking on. We had no idea how much sleep we would actually lose. We had no idea how much that tiny infant would cry in her first year. We had no idea how much our world was just turned upside-down.
--BUT --
We also had underestimated how simply awesome that little girl was going to be!
We had no idea that we wouldn't be able to go anywhere (and I mean anywhere) without people stopping us so they could "oooh" and "ahhh" over our little beauty.
We had no idea just how much fun she would prove to be. We had no idea that she would have such a great sense of humor.
We had no idea that she would be so incredibly smart. We had no idea she would make a fantastic big sister one day.
We've been so blessed by Evie's life in just 7 years. Although I know we have no idea how fast the next years will fly by, I can't wait to see what's in store for our family as Evie continues to grow. She's such a sweetheart, and I'm thankful every day that God put her in our family!

Happy Birthday, Evie. I've had my mustache since Tara was a baby. I do not want to shave it off, but Evie's fear of it made me close to doing so a few times during her first couple of years. Luckily, she finally realized Opie and his mustache were not monsters even though I believe she still does not like it much. Love you bunches, Evie.
