Pirates & Princesses

This past weekend we had a combined birthday party for Evie & Maggie. Because Maggie's birthday was a week after Oliver was born, and both girls wanted princess parties, we decided to celebrate their birthdays together in October. And since probably more than half of their friends are boys, we had to do something besides just princesses. We found the pirate and princess idea online, and it turned out pretty cute! John decorated the playground to be a pirate ship. He used huge boxes to build a castle for the kids to play in. We painted the girls' fingernails and gave everyone pirate tattoos. There were several families that joined us to celebrate, and Nana, Opie, Megan, Kelsey, Mimi, and Papa all came down, too. It turned out to be a great weekend! (Not to mention that later that evening, OSU beat Mizzou to put us in the top ten!!!! Go Pokes!)
