This is interesting...I've noticed that when Oliver has the hiccups and I nurse him, the hiccups go away. I wonder why that is. Weird.
The kids' doctor appointments went well yesterday. Evie's eyes are fine. The eye doctor said that some kids appear to have a wandering eye but really don't. I never noticed anything, so I wasn't really worried. We just took her based off the machine the pediatrician's nurse used to look at her eyes. We're supposed to take her back in next year just to make sure everything really is fine. I guess she also has a normal amount of far-sightedness. Nothing that requires correction at this time. She got her pupils dilated during the visit. That always freaks me out to see someone's eyes like that. They gave her a miniature pair of those really "cool" sunglasses for her to wear outside. She looked cute in them. :)
Dr. Genecov checked Oliver out. There is still a knot in his lip, so Dr. Genecov said to keep massaging it twice a day. Oliver had a little pimple under his nose. He's had a couple of them in the past, too, right on his scar. Dr. Genecov said there could be a dissolving stitch that's still causing problems. We go back in another two months, and if the knot is still there, the doctor will inject steroids into Oliver's lip. I'm not really worried, but I'm praying that everything will heal the way it's supposed to. Fortunately, Oliver is tolerating the massage much better at this point. He absolutely hated it for awhile, there. Lots of people prayed for those massage sessions to get better, and they have. Now I just pray that they are effective.

I've been thinking about the nursing/hiccups thing, I think it might have to do with the rhythm of eating and breathing that a baby has. A hiccup is basically a spasm of the diaphragm and the rhythm of his breathing while nursing might get it back in sync. Just a thought.. So glad to hear that Evie's eyes checked out ok! Yay for answered prayers! We're praying for Oliver's lip to be all better too!
