My poor little man. He started getting eye boogers on Tuesday evening. It got a little worse yesterday. We had been around some kids who developed pink eye in the last week or so, but the timing just didn't seem right for Oliver to have caught it from them. When he woke up this morning with crusties all over his eye, I called the doctor's office. I was ever-so-slightly annoyed when they wanted me to bring him in. I thought they should just call in some eye drops to the pharmacy, which they have done before when the girls had pink eye. At the office, all of the nurses commented on how bad Oliver's eye looked. I started thinking if they thought it looked bad, it must be BAAAD. The nurse practitioner checked one ear. Fine. She checked the other ear. Infected. I felt terrible! Oliver hasn't been sick at all, yet he has an ear that's infected enough to spread to his little eye! Poor little man. He's such a sweet boy, he never got fussy. He never ran a fever. I commented to John last night that Oliver had seemed a little quieter and more "blah" than normal. I had a feeling something was up, but I thought his eye was just bothering him. I wonder how long his ear has been hurting him, and I had no idea. I love the baby stages, but it's so nice (most of the time) when they can talk to you and let you know what hurts. Anyway, he's on some antibiotics now, so he should heal up just fine.

Poor little guy! I hear you on the how hard it is to figure out what's wrong when they can't talk. At this age fussiness could be from so many things: allergies, teething... I seem to try to play the rule out game and it seems most of the time I'm off! That's a part of being Momma I guess!

I hope he's feeling better now! Keeping you all in our prayers!
