The Life of a Germaphobe
It's a rough one. Especially when one has kids. You've seen the Lysol commercial: Kids and germs go hand in hand. It's true. I try to relax as much as possible, but they're everywhere. I'm not worried about the ones that are beneficial. But the icky ones really get to me. I've been dealing with much anxiety this year about the kids getting sick. (With a TON of prayer, this anxiety is easing a lot!) Both girls know how to properly cover a cough, how to sing their ABC's while washing their hands so they wash long enough, and just exactly where the giant bottle of hand sanitizer is located in the house. I don't know why I worry so much. Obviously there's not a ton I can do to prevent stuff. Oliver & Maggie both had a cold this week. And Evie woke up in the middle of the night (well, technically Thursday morning) with a stomach bug. I confined the poor girl to our bedroom with lots of blankets, pillows, the tv, a cup of water, and a barf bowl. She did great, considering the fact that she loves to watch tv to her heart's content. (Edited to say that I didn't just leave Evie in there to completely deal with it on her own. I checked on her every few minutes and made sure she was okay. Didn't want to sound like I shut her off in my fear of spreading the illness! I may be a little germaphobic, but I'm not a horrible mom!) In going between the kids, I washed my hands like crazy, changed my clothes a lot (I didn't even get puked on!), and this morning I bleached the house. It was good excersize, if nothing else. Everyone seems to be getting over their repective bugs for now, and I'm praying that that horrible stomach bug is gone. Apparently Evie can still be contagious for a few more days. Which leads to more germaphobic activity around here. It never ends.

Hope you, John and the kids get well and stay well. If you need anything, let Mom or me know. Especially if you need some help. You know Mom loves to bleach stuff even if she happens to be wearing it. hee hee
Love yuns.
Dad
I think you were not well served having worked in that Vet Med lab and getting a zoology degree!!! Now you understand germs too well! Or else it's my fault for telling you to watch out for botulism...
Dad
Yeah, the house smells familiar today. I don't usually use bleach in my cleaning, but I grew up with it! Maybe that explains something... The better-than-normal understanding of bacteria and such probably doesn't help, either.
From one germaphobe to another...I feel your pain!
