Hunt County Fair & the Sprinkler Park
Last weekend we went with our friends, the Urlachers, to the Hunt County Fair. We ate some greasy food, rode some rides (well, Isaac, Oliver, and I sat them out, of course), and checked out the animals and booths. Maggie loved the goats. All of the kids liked the merry-go-round. Evie refused to go on it at first. John pretty much took her on while she was crying (loudly, mind you) and forced her to ride it. (She's been on several merry-go-rounds in her life, so we KNEW she would love it.) Once it got started, she was all smiles and even seemed to enjoy it more than Caleb and Maggie! After they got off, Evie told Daddy, "Thanks for cheering me up with the merry-go-round." Goober.

This weekend we made trips to two different sprinkler parks. On Friday we went to Royse City with moms & kids from our weekly playgroup. It took Evie & Maggie a few minutes to actually get wet, but once they did they had a great time. Then on Saturday, the four of us went to one in Rockwall that the kids and I went to several times last summer. It was the first time John was able to go with us and see what all the hubub was about. If you have children, you should look around for one of these. They're great! The kids get all the fun of playing in the water without the worry of drowning, and parents can sit on the side and watch, or they can join in and cool off. I'm not much of a water person, so this is a great alternative to me having to get in a bathing suit and in the water with the kids hanging onto me for dear life. Just watch that your kids don't use the fountains as drinking fountains like mine do...

We love the State and County fairs! When we first moved here we went to the OK State fair here in Tulsa and while we were in line to get our fried goodies, the sales lady was on the phone with her daughter discussing how to gut and cook a squirrel, then she proceeded to look at us rather puzzled asking, "What, you've never eaten squirrel??" I looked over at Neil and said "Welcome home sweetie!!" He he, sometimes the people you see at the fair are more interesting than the animals!! :)
I'll keep that in mind about the sprinkler parks! Looks like a lot of fun!! Thanks for sharing the pictures!! I LOVE, LOVE seeing the m! I can't wait to see all three of your kiddo's together!! Wow! It will be so soon!
Looks like everyone had fun at the fair and the sprinkler park. Is that the same cow from Sirloin Stockade? Or was it Golden Corral? I dunno.
I found out why I couldn't post a comment on here. I didn't verify our email address to activate the Google account. dork.
