We wanted a swingset for the kids this summer. Preferably one that they could climb, swing, and slide on. John did a lot of research on all the different playground kits you can buy and assemble yourself. He finally came to the conclusion that designing and building one himslef would be the best route. Honestly, I fought this most of the way. We ended up spending a decent chunk of change on the thing, but it
is really awesome! John got lots of the parts at really good prices and used Lowe's and Home Depot coupons we had. So we paid one amount for it (I'm not even sure what that amount is...), but the value is actually higher. If we had bought a kit of this playground, we would have paid out the wazoo for it. Besides, John says he has always wanted to do something like this, and the girls LOVE it. And I can sit my pregnant butt down in a lawn chair with a magazine while they play to their hearts' content. I guess the fact that it's a little over-kill is alright. John doesn't do anything on a small scale. I do love that about him most of the time.

The crazy thing is the thing's not even finished yet. Next to the little slide is a climbing wall that we need to put the rock thingies on. And next to the big slide is a place for us to put a disc swing. Then we have to landscape it with some mulch so John doesn't have to mow around every little leg.
The kids certainly enjoy it!

In other news, I had another check-up today. Oliver looks good. His heart rate was perfect, and my belly is measuring right on target for 33 weeks. I go back in two weeks, then it's time to start the weekly appointments! It's scary that it's already coming down to the end. I can't even imagine how crazy our house is going to be from now on! Three kids within four years... Wow! Just thinking about it makes me tired! They scheduled another ultrasound on July 8, which will be just in time for our consult with the other craniofacial surgeon on the 14th. Lots of stuff going on. Wouldn't have it any other way.

WOW!! That's an intense playground!! We are completely in awe!!! Brooklynn is going to have to go often and play with her cousin's awesome swingset as I don't Neil and I could EVER put together something that elaborate! Kuddos to you John!! So glad to hear that Oliver is doing well and can't wait to hear the update with his next u/s!
Hey Tara and John, Carl here and I must say awesome stuff :) Wedding invitations are being sent out soon, I know with everything going on that it will be tough for you all to make it. Anyway keep up the blog and God Bless.
That's an awesome playground. Great engineers never overdo anything. There's always a tad more to add. Another improvement to make or gadget to install. The playground might grow to make Leonardo's in Enid look small.
changed our sign-in name. Just checking to see if it worked.
