Kids sure can demolish your stuff. For some reason, Evie likes to do things to peoples' televisions. The girls were running around this morning playing with some squirt guns I brought home from Oliver's baby shower. (They were from a cute game... I can explain later...) I went to the bedroom for a bit to put away laundry. Evie came in and said she needed more water for her gun and something-or-other about the tv. That sent up a red flag. "Did you spray the tv??" "Uh huh. And now I need more water" Great. Sure enough, there was water all over the tv, and it wouldn't respond to me trying to change channels or volume. I just decided to wait until it dried and hope for the best. Later, while we were eating lunch, Maggie said something about the tv. I finally realized she heard the tv come on in the other room. (It wasn't before.) I was kind of freaked out, and I went to turn it off. I sat back down at the table and heard it come on again. When I went in, it was flipping through channels! I mean, I know it's got something to do with the water, but it's still freaky!! Of course I called John, and he said it's not a good sign for the thing to be turing itself off and on. I turned off the surge protector, and luckily I haven't noticed anything else. It would be especially nerve-wracking if there were no electricity going through the tv.
Earlier, I said Evie does things to PEOPLES' tvs. Plural. When we were in Stillwater, she had a cup of water and a spongy paintbrush thingy and painted water all over mom & dad's tv. Dad had to dry it out with the hair dryer to get it to work again. Theirs turned out fine in the end (at least I assume so. I haven't recieved a call asking for me to pay for a new tv.) So I'm hopeful that ours will be okay, too.
As an update to last week's behavioral episodes... Everyone is doing just fine. That phase has passed. Now I just have to brace myself for the next one.
Finally, I don't know exactly who reads this. I do hope you realize that there is a lot of sarcasm going on in this blog. I'm a sarcastic person. Don't think bad about me, please. I love my kids. But I have to make fun of some situations or I might just go nuts. If you've been through it, you understand. If you have yet to experience it, your time is coming! It's all actually pretty amusing, and I do love my life. 99% of the time.

whoa. Hope Evie doesn't get shocked by putting water on the tv.
P.S. Our tv is fine after it dried out.
She didn't hurt herself with the tv, but she did decide to STAND on the SIT-n-spin. It spun (like it's supposed to...) and sent her flying into the foot of our bed. She's got a little bruise on her face. Maggie's the daredevil, but I actually worry more about Evie killing herself!!
Maggie waits to see if Evie gets hurt then tries a different way.
