Well Child Visit

Maggie and Oliver had their check-ups this morning. Both are doing great. Very healthy. Praise the Lord!!

Oliver, of course, is our little scrawny kid. He eats anything I give him, so appetite certainly isn't a problem. He takes a multivitamin every day. He's gaining weight and height, so they're not worried. He's not "behind" with his motor skills, just toward the tail end of the "normal" range. (We knew that with his late start in crawling!) He doesn't talk as much as a typical 12-month-old. Doesn't wave much. Doesn't point to things. Nothing to worry about, just something to keep an eye on. He does clap and pull up on things, though, so he's doing fine. (Oh, yeah! I think I forgot to report that Brother's pulling up, now!! Not just to his knees, but to his feet!) He's got 4 teeth. Three on bottom and one on top. He's starting to get a snaggle-toothed grin with the uneven teeth on top. Cracks me up! That little gummy baby smile is almost gone forever. *sniff* Brother had to get four shots today. Three routine immunizations and the flu shot. He did great with the first stick and lost it after that. For how calm he is, he really freaks out about shots! Not that I can blame him, of course.

Here are the little guy's stats:
height: 31 inches (80th percentile)
weight: 18lbs 12.5 oz (2nd percentile)
head circumference: 18.5 inches (70th percentile)

All that to say, he's tall and skinny with a big head! Heehee.

About Maggie, she's in perfect health. She's always been little. She takes after her Mama. She eats great, talks well, is very coordinated, sleeps good, is potty trained. Can't complain too much. (Except about the little "attitude"!) Apparently she's got one last molar coming in. I didn't realize that. Maybe we can blame the current "phase" on it. She didn't have to get any immunizations, but I'll take the girls in to get flu shots later when the doc's office gets them in. Fun, fun.

Maggie's stats:
height: 35.75 inches (25th percentile)
weight: 27lbs 3oz (25th percentile)

Meaning, she's short and light but in perfect proportion! What a kid!

Interestingly enough, Maggie and Oliver were the most well-behaved ones there. (Except when Brother got his shots. Heh.) Evie was the one getting in trouble and disobeying and whining. What is with that??

What a crew. Some short. Some tall. Is that what we call Crazy Mixed up kids. I am one of them too. With Oliver's height he will be able to reach everything. We did miss all of you this past weekend. But I was stunned when your parents and Kelsey walked in. I love my family. They are the BEST. Love ya

One day Oliver is going to google his name and find out you said "All that to say, he's tall and skinny with a big head! Heehee." Hopefully he'll take it like a man :) Good to hear the kiddos are doing good though!

Good news! I think Oliver is studying everything. He's cautious. One day he's gonna break out of his shell and you'll wish he was just sitting back. LOL
