4th of July

Yes, I know this is pretty late. But I've had other things going on.

We had a good 4th of July weekend. Mom & Dad came down, and we had a blast. On Friday we went to Rockwall and spent the afternoon at the park. Evie & Maggie got to play in the sprinkler park, chase bubbles, and pig out on watermelon. At the end of the evening, there was a really great fireworks show that Maggie refused to watch. With the first BOOM, she started crying and buried her face in my neck. I couldn't get her to look up and release her death grip on me until all the fireworks were over. Poor kid. I hadn't expected that reaction from her at all! Evie, on the other hand, enjoyed the entire show with her hands over her ears. After they were done, she said she felt them "all the way to her bottom".
Maggie & Nana blowing bubbles. Daddy showing Evie how to throw a frisbee. (Or a "crispy" if you're Evie.)
This is a pretty good shot of Oliver. Let me tell you, playing frisbee with an 8-month preggo belly isn't easy! Also, those bubbles attracted a bunch of kids!
Opie getting squirted by the Red Fuzz. Such an ornery kid! (That's the same gun that was used in the tv incident...)

Scarfing on watermelon!
Saturday, the 5th, was my birthday, and we bummed around a good part of the day. We picked up some fajita meat from the Mexican supermarket and some fresh tortillas from the tortillaria. John grilled us up a good birthday dinner. Mom made some homemade chocolate ice cream. It was a good way to turn 29!

HEY! You stole some info from my blog! LOL. Glad John got a photo of Maggie scarfing the watermelon. I didn't get one. Maggie was a very good shot with that squirt gun. Always in the eyes and face.
