With all of the sarcastic posts and those telling about the bad things our kids do, I thought I would finally post about something good! I have to apologize to all the other moms out there when I break the news that Evie is absoultely one of the smartest children on the planet. (Maggie is right up there, too, of course, and I have no doubts that Oliver will be no different.)
What is it that Evie can do that's so great?? She can WRITE her own name!!! And she's only 3-1/2! Pretty impressive, huh? I'm no child development expert, but I think that's pretty cool! She's so proud of it that we have papers all over the house with her little signature on it. Adorable! Sometimes she puts too many lines on the E's, but most of the time she gets it just right.

Evie has also been drawing like crazy. It's her new "thing". At first it was just scribbles and swirls that she would kind of interpret for us. Cute enough. Then one afternoon she walked up saying she drew a picture of Daddy. Here's what she handed me...

Holy cow!!! I'm officially one of those parents that thinks the not-so-impressive artwork their child did is a masterpiece. :) After I made a big deal about Daddy's portrait, she drew one of me...

I know it looks a lot like Daddy, but you can see that my hair is a bit longer. :) I like that Lezli pointed out that we are both smiling. (That was you, Lezli, right??)
The other day, Evie drew a picture for Jesus. I don't know what it is, so maybe it's not as "cool", but I thought it was awesome that she drew one specifically for Jesus!
Someday soon I'm going to devote an entire post to Maggie's genuis, too.

Hey, one of these days Evie will have her own art show in the Louvre!
I think Evie takes after her Nana:)
Evie IS a genius. What a smart cookie. It wasn't me that made the comment about both of you smiling, but thanks for the credit :) I bet it was Shawna -- she always notices the good things :)
Evie takes after her momma in a lot of ways...
