There have been crickets chirping here at Hix Family Happenings. John and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on July 17! Yes, time flies. We decided to go back to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, where we went on our honeymoon. We dropped the kids off in Stillwater to spend three nights with the grandparents while we were in Arkansas. I thought it was going to be really hard to leave them, but it wasn't so bad. We thought about them the whole time we were gone, but we were still able to enjoy ourselves. And get some sleep!!!! We have a bunch of photos, so I'll upload some eventually. Today it's business as usual, but the peace and quiet was nice while it lasted. :)

Hi there!

Congratulations - both the anniversary and the sleep:). Whenever Jeff and I are away from the kids we are always saying things like - David would like "this" or Sarah would enjoy doing "that."

I am assuming that as parents we are always going to be interested in what pleases the kids (or the grandkids!)

Are you going Oklahoma on the 8th?

Thanks, Karen. The first evening we were there we went to a few shops and bought the kids some stuff right away. And everything we did John kept saying, "We'll have to come back and do this with the kids!" Funny.

And, no, we're not going to make it to OK on the 8th. We stopped by Mema's house in Miami on Sunday to say hi to most of the crew there. It's too tough to make the trip that soon with the kiddos. And we'll have John's sister visiting from CA, too.
