Cute kids

Oliver has developed a sweet habit of "talking" to me after he eats. He'll sit and hum and "Ahhhhh" at me for a bit. I was talking back to him this evening, asking him what he was saying. Evie piped up and told me, "He's saying 'Thank you, thank you, I'm so happy!'" I thought that was cute.

Later I was holding Oliver on the couch. Maggie came over and asked if she could hold him. She scooted next to me, and I sat him on her lap. He's only four months old, so he doesn't have great control of his hands yet. He was grabbing at Maggie's hair, face, and shirt. Maggie loved it so much. She kept saying, "Mama, he loves my hair! He loves my face! He loves my shirt!" Once his arm went over her shoulder, and she said he was hugging her. Her face was so happy.

Yesterday Evie and I put together a puzzle. Each piece is a different color with a number. You put them in number order to make an elephant. After supper, Evie and John were putting the puzzle together again. John was asking Evie what number came next. Nearly every time Evie could tell him what color the next piece was without even looking at it. Wish I had a memory like that!

Today was Evie's birthday celebration at school. Last night the girls and I made mini strawberry cupcakes for Evie's class. Apparently they were a big hit. Evie was wearing a shirt, denim skirt, and leggings with cupcakes all over them. She was adorable! And so proud of her pink cupcakes.

Last night John was putting Maggie's pj's on. She was in a silly mood. All of a sudden, she started saying "I fart!!" repeatedly and making farting sounds with her mouth while she aimed her behind toward John. Wonder where she learned that?? It was hard not to laugh while telling her that it wasn't very nice. That kid is hilarious.
