Maggie has officially been diagnosed with asthma. She's had a horrible cough since yesterday, and John & I suspected asthma. He would know, since he grew up with it, and I know because it sounded like Evie's cough often does. (That's what was going on with Evie earlier this week.) Maggie's had asthma-sounding coughs in the past, too, so it's not like this is coming out of the blue. I took Maggie in this morning, and now she has her own albuterol meds for the nebulizer. Fun stuff. The good news is that it worked like a charm. She's taking a nap now with NO COUGHING!!! She coughed all day long yesterday and all night last night. I hate asthma, but I love that it's easily controlled (most of the time). I'm also so glad it didn't take months of nighttime coughing to diagnose her like it did with Evie when she was Maggie's age. Renea (nurse practitioner) said that she could easily hear Maggie wheezing, so she was easy to diagnose. Kids like Evie, who don't really wheeze but just cough a lot, are much harder to diagnose. I guess this roller coaster weather aggravates allergies, which aggravates asthma. It's a vicious cycle. The other good news is that means it's not contagious! So, when the girls are loving on Oliver and cough right in his face, he's not going to catch anything! :) Either way, we've got meds for both girls, and we're taking them to Oklahoma next week. There will be no repeat of last year if I can help it!!!

Hopefully Evie is feeling well this year. Have you had the ducts cleaned in your a/c system? Could be lots dust in there that gets blown around when the heater or a/c comes on. Dust that could aggravate a cough and allergies. I know... shattup, Dad.
Love ya.
