I'm already ready for summer. It means three or four months of healthy kids. We spent the first full week of December taking care of three sick kids. Usually during the winter, the kids get about one cold per month. Now Evie is already sick again with a stuffy nose and a horrible cough that won't quit. I think I got up with her at least five times last night to try and stop her cough. No luck. She's attempting to take a nap now, and I can hear her constantly coughing. It's super frustrating. Gotta love asthma. I've done so much research on how to control a cough, and none of it is working. Humidifier, inhaler, nebulizer, cough medicine, vicks on the chest, vicks on the soles of the feet, water to drink. Two weeks ago I tried to get Evie to take honey to stop her cough. I don't know if that works or not, because she refuses to take it. She wouldn't even drink warm water with honey and lemon. At least I'm feeling better than I was yesterday. Even without much sleep. Makes it easier to deal with sick kiddos.

John participated in a 5-person relay team for the Dallas White Rock Marathon this morning to raise money for a children's hospital. He was added to the team less than a month ago when another member couldn't participate. John hasn't had much time to train for the run with all that's been going on and the cold weather. He's been running a little here and there for quite awhile, so that certainly helped him today. He's still not home yet, but he called earlier and said he ran his entire leg of the course. I'm really proud of him. That's something I wouldn't even attempt! Running?!? Blech! You wanna know the name of their team? "Chafing for Charity".

waytago, John. That's really cool. "chafing"? LOL. as in, thighs rubbing together or what? Tara, have you guys had your house tested for mold? Might be worth checking into.

Apparently the guy who ran the last (and I think longest) leg of the relay had chafing on the insides of his arms where they rubbed on his shirt. So the name was appropriate. :)
