Some randomness...

We went to Dallas today to have Oliver's stitches out. Everything went well. When we walked into the exam room, the nurse was talking to Oliver and asked how it was possible that she couldn't even see his scar! She seemed very impressed with how it looked. He heals like his daddy!! He wasn't too thrilled about the stitches coming out, but I think he's pretty happy about the no-nos being gone for good! He had a giant crusty right under his nose that the doc had to take off in order to remove the stitches there. It left a pretty decent sized divet in his lip, but they didn't seem concerned about it at all. I just have to keep antibiotic ointment on it at all times until it heals. I'm guessing that if that area heals as well as the rest of his lip, there won't be an issue with it. Oliver has to wear tape across his top lip for at least six weeks to keep the sun from damaging the scar from the surgery. I also have to massage his lip twice a day to break up and soften the scar tissue. Other than that, we're back to normal! Hooray!!!

I have tons of pictures. The first few are from yesterday before getting the stitches out.
(Hmmm, I thought you would be able to see the stitches better. Oh well. I'll leave the pics on because they're so cute.)

Here are a couple from tonight. His lip looks amazing! The scar area looks a little red in the photos, but in person, you can hardly even see it. I guess it's the flash??

Then Maggie came along. This girl loves her brother to pieces! She was just lovin' and smoochin' on him. Even when he grabbed a handful of hair, she thought it was funny. (She had pigtails earlier today. That's why her hair is kinda sticking out...)

After Oliver's appointment today, we went to Taco Bueno to get lunch. (Evie's absolute favorite food in the world is bean burritos.) Maggie kept calling it Taco EEE-no.

Tonight the girls were goofing off and putting the bumbo seat on their heads. (They learned this from Daddy.) Maggie was pretending to be a lion. Evie put the seat on, and when Maggie called her a lion, Evie said, "No, I'm not a lion. I'm Sir Evie!" I guess she thought she was a knight or something. Cracked me up!

Finally, here are a couple of pictures of the kids from the other day. (Not sure if you'll be able to see the last one. It's Maggie sleeping in her fave position: on her back with her hands behind her head. In this one she has her mouth hanging open and her binky sitting on her chest. I couldn't use a flash cuz it would wake her up...)

WOW, I'm really impressed at how well hie lip is healing! It really looks great period, but especially for only having been 3 weeks ago! What an amazing little healer! Your family is looking great! I love the picture of the three of them playing! Oliver has the sweetest smile ever! What a sweetie boy!
