I had to run to the pharmacy this morning to fill some prescriptions. I decided to go ahead and take all three kids inside to wait for the medicine. Before we went in, I reminded Evie & Maggie that they were supposed to sit in the chairs nicely and wait with me. Thay actually did a really good job of sitting and waiting. In the car, I thanked them for being good like I asked and for staying in the chairs. Evie said, "Maggie got out of her chair once." I told her that she needed to just worry about herself and not worry about what Maggie was doing. "But, Mama, I didn't do anything wrong, so I don't need to worry about myself!" Hmmmm. Makes sense to me, little smart aleck!

Then we met John for lunch at Subway. Evie was pretending that some chairs were her family. (??) She said, "My family is a little allergic to me, but they love me anyway." Goof ball.

Yesterday John had an appointment to find out if he's a candidate for corrective eye surgery. He is, and he's going to have laser surgery next Wednesday. He's beyond excited about the thought of having 20/20 or better vision. Without his glasses or contacts, he can't see at all. Maybe two inches from his face, literally. I'm squeamish at the thought of someone lasering his eyeballs, but, hey, they're his eyes, not mine. The biggest downfall... We have to be at the eye center in Plano (an hour away) at 4:30 am on Wednesday. Yes. That's A.M. As in the WEE (like, wee shouldn't be awake right now) hours of the morning. John's a teeny, tiny bit nervous, but it should be okay. He's going to the doctor who has apparently done more of these surgeries than anyone else in the world. Just pray, please, that everything goes smoothly.

Makin' my eyes water...

I know two guys who had it done on their eyes. Both were kinda like John, couldn't see nuthin' without glasses. Both can see really well now. Steve O'Hara had each of his eyes done, but one for far vision and one for close up. Didn't know you could do that. Funny cuz when I was teaching last fall, he would have to be on the left side of the computer screen to see it well. LOL.

Good luck, John. And to you, Tara for getting everyone up and around so darned early. That's before me and Deb get up. hee hee.

Fortunately, John's parents are going to be here. They were going to come this weekend, but we asked if they could come up for a couple of days next week instead. That way the kids can stay in bed. We'll probably be able to get back home just after they wake up, so they'll hardly even know we're gone. When they told us it was that early in the morning, I started to sweat at the thought of figuring out what to do with three kids!

Oh, and yesterday, they did some kind of moisture test on John's eyes. They basically put a string in each of his eyes hanging down his cheeks. (They told him "It will feel like you have a string in each eye." Hmmm. Imagine.) John looked over toward me, blinking, and my eyes started watering like crazy. Someone's not supposed to have strings hanging out of his eyes!
