I took Oliver in this morning to do a weight check. Last month he was 16lbs 11 oz. Today he weighed 17lbs 10oz. He's still below the 5th percentile for weight, but the doc was happy with Oliver gaining one pound in a month. I'm just supposed to keep doing what I've been doing. I'll take Oliver on August 10 for his 1 year check-up and see how he grows. He loves "real" food: Cheerios, bananas, green beans, crackers, and he still eats his baby food and milk like a champ. So appetite isn't the problem. He's just my puny little man. One friend suggested maybe I'm making skim milk. Heehee, maybe! Maggie sure was a chunk, though. Anyway, while we were still at the doctor's office this morning, Evie was pretending to check Oliver out. She said he weighs "skinny pounds". Heehee. It's alright. We love him anyway!
The last few days, Oliver is really moving all over the floor. Mostly he's rolling around, but he's definitely realizing that he's not confined to one spot on the floor. Uh oh. Gotta make sure the girls keep their teensy tiny stuff off the floor! We keep finding a bunch of roly polies on our floors, too, so I'm wondering when I'm going to fish one of those out of Brother's mouth. This morning I laid Oliver down on Evie's little couch, then went to the kitchen to fix breakfast. I looked into the living room, and Oliver was sitting up! That's the first time he's gone from laying to sitting, and I don't know how he did it. He's growing up. :(

Good to hear he's going mobile. Until he's getting into stuff at the house anyway. LOL. Tara, roly polies are great source of protein.
He was probably sitting up from the "protein!"
Sarah has a friend over and I read your blog out loud with your mom and dad's response and got quite the chuckle:).
Have a great weekend!
Tara, you'll know he's eating those roly polies when you touch him and he rolls up into a ball... hee hee
Dad - I like roly polies and all, but I think I'll flip if I find one in Bubs' mouth. Ick! However, I do realize that the chances of him eating a bug at some point in his lifetime are pretty great. So if it's gonna be a roly poly... well, I guess it could be worse.
Karen - Glad y'all enjoy the posts. You can always count on Dad for a giggle. :)
Wait until you find him with a lizard tail hanging out of his mouth. LOLOL!!
Ya for the pound gained! That's progress in any book!
It always amazes me how Brooklynn can be on the floor playing with these lovely toys and yet manage to find the tiniest little bug and pick it up. I don't get it... I can't get the child to eat any food at all but I think she's seriously considered giving a bug a go a few times! Silly kiddo's! He'll still always be your baby!
